When the god Dionysus returns home, after an around the world tour, he is displeased to discover a new King has renounced Dionysus’ doctrines in favour of a more buttoned up, puritan way of existence. As revenge Dionysus possesses the women of the city, creating bloody and irrevocable havoc.

Imaginary Conversations debut project is Euripides’ bloody and intoxicating tragedy, which aims to throw you headfirst into the hedonistic world of the Bacchae. This piece is framed as an immersive rave and puts you at the centre of the action. This immersive piece of theatre is scored by a DJ and accompanied by dancers and an MC – all ensuring you experience this play like never before.

An Arts Council funded R&D period will take place this year with a tour of select dates in Summer 2026.

This performance looks at themes of gender and sexuality and is designed to bring historically distant texts to life for young people.

Thom Bailey Theatre supported by the Arts Council and the Seagull Theatre presents

Thas’ a Rummun

A new play Mark Finbow, Roseanna Frascona, Abby McCann, and Mylo McDonald.

At the Devil’s hour, in a small hut somewhere deep within the Norfolk countryside, a tape recorder starts to play by itself.

Based on real-life interviews conducted across the East Anglian Coastline, our production chills and scares audiences with the rich and complex history and folklore of our coastal communities. Focused on four stories, spanning over four centuries, Thas’ a Rummun features accusations of witchcraft, folklore, superstition, poltergeists, and exorcisms all presented in a stage show designed to leave you with lasting memories of fear and a deep sense of unease.

Suitable for ages 15 years and over.
